With some Model X units that once cost well over $100,000 now appearing in the $40,000-$50,000 range, is now the right time to buy?

 

 

현재 국내 중고 시장에서 모델 X의 가격표는 그야말로 '천차만별'입니다. 2018년식 초기형 모델은 5천만 원대 후반까지 내려온 반면, 최신 연식인 2024년식 AWD 모델은 여전히 1억 4천만 원대를 호가하죠. 흥미로운 점은 '단종 프리미엄'이 모든 차량에 붙지 않는다는 것입니다. 오히려 관리 상태가 모호한 차량은 감가 폭이 커지고, 보증이 남은 'A급' 매물만 가격을 방어하는 옥석 가리기가 시작되었습니다.

Currently, the price tags for the Model X in the domestic used market are all over the place. While early 2018 models have dropped to the high $40,000s, recent 2024 AWD models still command over $100,000. Interestingly, the "discontinuation premium" isn't applying to all vehicles. Instead, a polarization is occurring where poorly maintained units see steeper depreciation, while only "Grade A" units with remaining warranties are holding their value.

Repair costs can easily exceed several thousand dollars, a sharp thorn hidden behind the attractive price tag. Furthermore, the pressure of expiring warranties is real. Many 2017-2018 models are nearing the end of their 8-year battery and drive unit warranties. Owning an out-of-warranty Tesla means bearing all unexpected costs yourself.

If you're looking for maximum value, waiting until late 2026 might be wise, as 2022 refresh models will start hitting the used market in larger numbers, forcing further price adjustments on older models.

The Model X is undoubtedly attractive. But whether those wings set you free or become a heavy burden depends on how carefully you pick the "gem" from the stones.
