While the tax rate is lower than regular income tax, the large amount means taxes are determined by the "tax base distribution method" (calculating tax by dividing it by years of service). For a 10-year veteran, if about 15-20% is deducted from the 180 million KRW compensation, the actual take-home pay is likely to be around 140 million KRW.
