The most serious aspect of this incident is Coupang's delayed response. It was revealed that the company only became aware of the breach on November 18th, 12 days after the incident occurred on November 6th. Since the investigation was initiated following a customer complaint , criticism is mounting over the fundamental flaws in Coupang's personal information protection system and its slow response. This incident serves as a serious warning regarding the overall security management systems of large retail companies, amplifying consumer anxiety.

The Special Counsel Team defined the incident as an organized power abuse crime stemming from 'the VIP's fury'. According to the investigation, former President Yoon became enraged after receiving the initial investigation results from the Marine Corps Investigation Unit and allegedly issued individual and specific instructions to exclude high-ranking suspects, such as Division Commander Im Sung-geun. Consequently, the Special Counsel concluded that the Presidential Office and the Ministry of National Defense subsequently compromised the fairness and independence of the investigation by systematically overturning the results and retrieving records. The Special Counsel also confirmed retaliatory insubordination charges against Colonel Park Jeong-hun, emphasizing the need for strict punishment.

The leaked information included highly confidential details such as names, resident registration numbers, bank account numbers, criminal records, and sensitive health information, suggesting potentially significant damage.
